Kathryn Jane Christensen Balos – Quinn 1925 - 2016 In loving memory of Kathryn Jane Christensen Balos-Quinn who entered the eternities and passed this earthly existence at 91 years of age on 20 May 2016. Kathryn Jane Christensen Balos-Quinn, a platinum blonde beauty with blue sparkly eyes, was born in Chicago, Illinois on 25 February 1925 to parents Florence Edna Baldwin (1894-1959) and Robert Christensen (1891-1956). Affectionately known as “Kaye”, she bestowed a rich legacy as author of Our Sacred Heritage (1977), WWII plant employee, Los Angeles Pacific Bell retiree, first-generation college graduate (1975, Utah Valley University), LDS Relief Society Counselor and Instructor, and prolific leader within the National Daughters of the American Revolution, National Society Colonial Dames XVII, National Magna Charta Dames and Barons, National Society Dames of the Court of Honor, Hereditary Order of the First Families of Massachusetts, Order of Descendants of Colonial Physicians and Chirurgiens, Society of Descendants of Colonial Clergy, Colonial Order of the Crown, National Society of Old Plymouth Colony Descendants, National Society Descendants of Early Quakers, National Society Sons and Daughters of the Pilgrims, National Society of New England Women, National Society of Daughters of Colonial Wars, Descendants of Founders of New Jersey, National Society United States Daughter of 1812, Ohio Genealogical Society First Families of Ohio, National Society Southern Dames of America, Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War 1861-1865, Grand Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star, Statue of Liberty Ellis Foundation, Battle of Normandy Foundation, and World War II Memorial Registry Remembrance. Kaye was married first to WWII Veteran Nathan Balos (1908-1951, married 1950-1951) and second to WWII Veteran Donald Quinn (aka Daniel Pena, 1912-1995, married 1952-1966). Blessed with two daughters, Kathryn and Patricia, Kaye lovingly dedicated her life to support their academic, talent, and religious pursuits – her unique qualities turned sorrows into joys, commonality into creativity, and hopelessness into inventive ingenuity. She will always be remembered as the “spunky” grandmother who loved to laugh, share ancestral stories, see historical sites, go on shopping adventures, and encourage excellence. She loved life and shimmered with joy no matter what the challenge! Kaye was preceded in death by her Husbands, Siblings, Nieces and Nephews. She is survived by her Stepson: D. Michael Quinn and Daughters: Kathryn Marie Quinn-Jenson-Standish-Asay and Patricia Anne Quinn-Honey. Surviving Grandchildren family include: Mary Quinn, Lisa (J.J.) Quinn-Harrison, Moshe Quinn, Hal Jenson Jr., Robert (Elizabeth Barton) Jenson, Jonathan Jenson, Kathryn Jenson, Christine Jenson, LiAnne Jenson, Melissa Honey, Alicia Honey-Gates, Salem Honey, Daniel Honey; Great Grandchildren: Robert, Madison, Claire, Bryten, and Aspen. She was beloved and now rests in peace. In lieu of flowers, an unsolicited act of kindness for someone in Kaye's name would be lovely.
