Kenneth Lee Faires

April 8, 1960 - May 19, 2022

Kenneth “Ken” Lee Faires, 62, lost his fight with brain cancer on May 19, 2022. Ken is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Maria Faires, daughter Stephanie Faires 32, and son Kevin Faires 30, of Salt Lake City, UT. His parents AF Retired SMS Thomas and Marjorie Faires of Sugar Land, TX, and sisters Debora (& Roy) Thelin, Sugar Land, TX, Cynthia (& Alan) Bryant Idabel, OK. He had many aunts, uncles, in-laws, cousins, and friends from around the world. Ken was born at Perrin Air Force Base, Sherman TX on April 8, 1960. He spent his 37-year career with Lockheed Martin, as an F-16 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. He and his family lived in Venezuela (where he met and fell in love with Maria), Turkey, New Jersey, Texas, and Utah. Ken has left quite an amazing legacy with Lockheed as he shared his vast knowledge with his co-workers. As Ken’s father was on active duty military for 28 years, Ken was actively involved in Boy Scout Troops across the states and in the Far East. He proudly achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Ken was a very proud Master Mason and a loyal member of the Masonic Lodge in Crowley, TX. He and Maria were very active with their children’s schools, especially during their high school band years. Golfing, darts, and poker were some of his hobbies. He always had a wonderful enjoyable sense of humor and always made himself available to help others around him. He has touched many lives and was always caring for others. He will be remembered and missed by so many people. Funeral services will be held from 5-7:00pm on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Premier Funeral Services, 5335 South 1950 West in Roy, Utah. The family would like to thank the amazing staff at the Huntsman Cancer Institute, the University of Utah hospital, and CNS Hospice for their service.
