Kenneth Lynn Hansen
June 4, 1940 - December 27, 2021
The family of Kenneth Lynn Hansen wish to share with the Salt Lake Community the passing our dear father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, master architect, cabin buddy, fisherman, thrift shopping guru, and king of many fascinating craft projects. Ken passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and his little dog on Monday, December 27, 2021. He was 81 years old. Ken was born in Salt Lake City on June 4, 1940, to Leroy and Beatrice Hansen. He graduated from South High School, then the University of Utah and pursued a lifelong career in architecture, specializing in apartments and condominiums. He completed projects in Utah and all over the western states working for Prowswood Corporation and later for numerous developers as an independent business owner with enough regional name recognition that he never paid for advertising. He married Julee Ann Iverson (deceased 2018) and together raised Kristin Lee Hansen Scott (Richard Scott—deceased) and Kari Lynn Hansen Hewitt (Darrell Hewitt). Their family grew and shared homes in Sandy and Cottonwood Heights, most that Ken designed and built with help from his brothers and friends. Ken is survived by his older brother Gary (Mary-Jo), and his two younger brothers Boyd (Barbara), and Ray (Carol), numerous nieces and nephews dear to him, immediate family named above, and collection of loyal friends who stretch across the U.S. and Canada. Ken’s family wish to thank the following providers and their staff for his excellent care, both long- and short-term: Wasatch Dialysis, Dr. Jennifer Norris, St. Mark’s Hospital, Aspen Ridge Rehabilitation Center, and Suncrest Hospice. The family also wishes to thank Jeff Nelson, Larry Schmidt, and Tami Schwendimen and the members of the Cottonwood Heights 1st Ward for their support, compassion, and friendship in recent years. You made a positive impact in the Hansen home.
