Kenneth James Hatch
July 24, 1925 - February 19, 2018
Jim passed away peacefully on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Southern Utah Veterans Home in Ivins, Utah at the age of 92. Jim was born July 24, 1925 to Alba Marshall and Ira Starns Hatch in Orem, Utah. He served as a Marine in the Pacific during WW2. After the war he married his love, Doris Borg and they raised their family of four in Midvale. Jim was primarily self-employed, which gave him the opportunity to build several homes. After retiring, Jim and Doris moved to St. George and also served a LDS Mission to Baton Rouge, LA. Jim loved the outdoors where he could hunt, fish, boat, camp, snowmobile and in retirement developed a passion for golf. He enjoyed spending time playing cards, hiking and traveling in their motorhome with their many wonderful friends. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Doris (2004) and son Kent (2014). He is survived by his children; Ron (Kristen) Hatch, Salt Lake City; Linda (Scott) Gunnell, Lava Hot Springs, ID; Gayle (Jerry) Jacobs, Murray and daughter in law Susan Hatch, West Jordan; eleven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Special thanks to Jim's friends and neighbors and the Southern Utah Veteran's Home for their outstanding care. Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Jim's Life on Saturday, February 24, 2018 viewing from 11:00 – 12:00 p.m. LDS Ward 619 West 5750 South Murray. A light luncheon will be served immediately after the service. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, UT.
