Kim M Turner
January 19, 1954 - October 5, 2018
Kim M Turner 1954 - 2018 With sadness in our hearts, we reflect on the passing of our papa-bear, Kim M Turner. Heavenly Father called him home on Friday, October 5th. Kim was born January 19th 1954 in Blackfoot, Idaho. As a youth, he learned the value of hard work while assisting on the family farm. After completing high school, Kim served the Lord in Dallas, Texas. Upon return, he attended Ricks College in Idaho where he met and married Debra Dutson. Together they had 6 children. They settled in Orem. Kim used his hard-working skills; often having 2 very time consuming jobs with Hostess; and other companies. Debra and Kim faced the challenges of life raising their family and teaching them the Gospel. Regretfully, that marriage ended in the 1990’s. After years of quiet loneliness, Kim married his eternal companion, Joan Christensen in the Mount Timpanogos Temple on August 27th, 2005. Kim had a very cheerful disposition; often whistling, smiling, and was friendly and caring to many others. He showed genuine interest in them. He was an example, disciple, father, brother, friend. He loved all and looked past the weaknesses of everyone he met. He truly was a hero to all of us and those that knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents Orin and Cleo Turner and his sister Diane Killpack. He is survived by his loving wife Joan; sister Lanae Lomeli; 4 beautiful daughters Karissa, Nicole, Kimberley, and Alicia; 2 awesome sons Jared and Justin; and 11 grandchildren. He also had the privilege of being a papa-bear to 4 loving step-children Anna Marie, Lars, Ty, and Nate; and 9 other grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, October 13th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints meetinghouse located at 762 East 1200 North in Orem, UT with a viewing prior to services from 9:00 to 10:45 am. Interment will follow in the Orem City Cemetery. We take solace in that through the Atonement of Christ, we will see our papa-bear again.
