Lance C Greenwell

December 18, 1956 - March 2, 2020

Lance C Greenwell was born in Ogden, Utah December 18, 1956 to Lewis Hammon and Una Cottle Greenwell. He graduated from Weber High School in 1975. He served in the England Bristol Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1976 to 1978. He married his sweetheart Dianne Cooper in the Ogden Utah Temple on September 28, 1979. They built a house in West Weber, next door to the house Lance grew up in. He loved living in the country. His hobbies included wood working, telling stories, making people laugh, watching and quoting movies, and camping at the Greenwell Family Reunion every summer. Lance worked in the banking and mortgage loan computer software industry. He enjoyed traveling to credit unions throughout the United States because he got to meet new people and try different foods. Since 2001, Lance has had many health challenges to overcome. In June 2017 he had an ischemic stroke which left him with limited mobility on the left side of his body. Dianne lovingly cared for him until the end of his life. He is survived by his wife Dianne, daughters Lana (Matt) Slater, Lisa Greenwell, and Dayna (Joseph) Wallace, his granddaughter Madalynn Slater and his grandsons Henry and Troy Slater. He is also survived by his brother Kenneth (Doris) Greenwell, his sister Marian (Bruce) Jeffs, his brother-in-law Reed Decker, and several nieces and nephews who were very dear to him. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Laraine Decker. Funeral Services will be held Saturday March 7, 2020 at 11:00 AM. The family will greet visitors Friday from 6-8 PM and Saturday 10:00 to 10:45 AM at the West Weber First Ward Chapel 4100 W 900 S Ogden, UT. This will be a celebration of Lance’s life. Please wear your favorite colors and a smile.
