LeGrande Dalton Butcher, age 76, passed away in his home in Grantsville, Utah on January 7, 2012 with his family by his side. He was born on May 13, 1935 to Fred and Martha (Hawthorne) Butcher in Salt Lake City, Utah. When he was 25 years old he joined the U.S. Army and served from 1960 to 1967. Soon after that he began painting with his father and uncle. He became an union painter and traveled around many different states painting for work. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, watching the Denver broncos play football,Loved dancing with his wife Cora to Country-Western Music, and putting puzzles together to make into pictures, which he enjoyed giving to family and friends. Lee is survived by his wife, Cora of Grantsville, Utah; his daughters, Michele and husband Robert Taylor of Essex, Iowa, Misty and husband Randall Whitt of Atlantic, Iowa, Stephanie and husband Randy Darling of Grantsville, Utah, Nickie Knaras of Couer-d'Alene, Idaho; his sons, Michael and wife Brittany Butcher of Lakewood, Colorado, Chad Knaras of Park City, Utah; 17 grandchildren ; 4 great-grandchildren and one due in May; his sisters, Rhoda Butcher of Westminister, Colorado, Carol and husband Lloyd Turnbull of Buena Vista, Colorado; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Lee is preceded in death by his parents; Fred Butcher, and Martha and Frank Filinowich, his brothers, Fred Butcher, Gene Butcher; and his daughter; LaceAnn Butcher. There will be a graveside service later this spring in Buena Vista, Colorado. Thank you for all your prayers and support during this time.
