Linda Lee Schoenfeld
April 23, 1946 - May 24, 2022
Linda passed away May 24th after a six year long battle with Alzheimer’s. She slowly slipped away one day at a time. She was a breast cancer survivor, and through many challenges in her life, she proved her strength, grace and faith. Linda was born to Lain and Donna Bytendorp April 23, 1946. She was the oldest of 9 children. She graduated from Granite High School in 1964 and went on to attend college at the University of Utah. Linda married Duane Schoenfeld in August of 1971. Last year they celebrated their 50th anniversary! In 1974 their first daughter, Erin Lee, died one week prior to her birth. They were determined to grow their family and were blessed with four more healthy children: Wendi, Jaime (Will), Kelli (Keene), and Brandon (Jaclyn). She was the immensely adoring and supportive grandmother of ten grandchildren: Jaron, Ashton, Jacob, Allie, Keira, Tristan, Keene Jr., Sienna, Saydie and Sawyer. Linda lived for her family and enjoyed every opportunity she had to spend time with them. She attended countless soccer games, dance recitals, theater performances, school and choir programs, sporting events, and any other family-get-together. She loved supporting her family in every way she could. Linda loved her church and served in various capacities. She loved camping, Jeeping, bowling, walking with the ladies, learning new things and bettering herself, her skills and talents, in new ways. She always had an open mind and tried to see things from other’s perspectives. She was one of the most loving, patient, and compassionate people we have ever known. She was thoughtful, selfless, fair, genuine and stronger than you can imagine. She was a great example and lived every day to share love and kindness with all those she met. We would like to extend a huge thank you to Charter Home Health and Hospice, and Rocky Mountain Home Care! They have spent countless hours caring for Linda. They are all so kind, selfless and loving. We were very blessed to have their help. Linda is survived by her siblings: Fred, Carla (Craig) and Reed (Shelly). Her husband, children and grandchildren. As well as, many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Gilda (Terry, still living), and brothers Jim (Glenna, still living), John (Debra, still living), Bruce, and Glen. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the LDS Stake Center at 7035 Nutree Dr, Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121. There will be a viewing prior to the service, at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, UT 84092. There will be an early dinner for the family, at the church following the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, help us save other families from losing their loved ones to this awful disease and donate to Alzheimer’s research at Alzheimer’s Association, or any of several other foundations.
