Lochie Ketron Bryan

April 19, 1933 - April 11, 2022

Lochie Ketron Bryan was born on April 19, 1933 in Kingsport, TN. Her parents were Russell J. Ketron and Ida Belle Jones Ketron. Lochie was the 10th and last child to join the family. Lochie was born into a very loving family. Growing up, she regularly attended the Methodist Church with her family. Daily scripture reading and prayer was a part of her life from her childhood. She married John W. Bryan, Sr. on February 7th, 1964. Lochie had two daughters (Kim and Debbie) from a previous marriage and John had 2 sons (Bill and Pat) that he was raising. They combined their 2 little families and raised the 4 children together. In 1970, Bro James Davis and his wife, Sis Zola Davis from Ogden, Utah were serving as missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kingsland, GA. They presented the lessons of the restored gospel to the Bryan family. All were baptized on December 7, 1970 and became members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were sealed together as a family in the Ogden Temple on June 16, 1972. Lochie was a faithful member of the Church for the rest of her life. She served in many callings, but her favorites were teaching classes about Family History and teaching classes to the children in Primary. She dedicated herself to family history research which was followed by many hours of temple work. From 2011-2012 Lochie worked as a volunteer at the Church Office Building in Salt Lake City. She served as a hostess and gave tours of the building. She loved the opportunity to serve in this way. In addition to raising her family, she became a licensed cosmetologist and owned her own beauty shop for many years. Lochie was an accomplished cook, homemaker, seamstress, wife and mother. She dearly loved all in her family - from her brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, to her children and grandchildren. Lochie is survived by her four children: Janice Kim Bryan, Deborah Ann Bryan Talley, John Wm (Bill) (Shawna)Bryan III and Patrick Scott(Chrissy) Bryan, 18 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was preceeded in death by her husband, her parents and all 9 of her brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews. The Viewing and Funeral services will be held on April 19th, 2022 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 9575 South 3100 East, Sandy, Utah. The Viewing will be from 10-11:30; Funeral at 12 noon. Interment will be at Granite Cemetary at 2969 East 9800 South. The closest parking is available at the Granite Elementary School.
