MaLinda Denison Abrams

June 30, 1971 - July 31, 2021

MaLinda Denison Abrams at the young age of 50 years old, was called home to her Heavenly Father peacefully at her home on July 31, 2021, after suffering through many medical issues. MaLinda was born on June 30th, 1971 in Murray, Utah at Cottonwood hospital. She was the sixth out of seven children, five older sisters, and one younger brother. She grew up in Sandy, Utah, and attended Jordan High School, graduating in 1989. She then worked very hard to put herself through school at the University of Utah and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in English. MaLinda worked at Acima in financing as a customers service agent. She loved her job there because of all the amazing friends and support she felt there. She was married to David Abrams on March 25th, 1991. They were divorced years later but adopted and raised their sweet daughter Makenzie together in 1998. MaLinda loved and adored Makenzie more than anything in this world. She did and would’ve done anything for her. Makenzie was her world and her very best friend and confidant. She always had immense love for children. Babysat all of her nieces and nephews, worked at a daycare center and was eagerly anticipating the arrival of her first grandchild which is expected to be born in September 2021. MaLinda loved to do gymnastics and cheerleading from a young age. She was a very talented writer and cross-stitcher. In her free time, she loved to play Monopoly, Mahjong, and watch Harry Potter. Anything trivia, especially anything about pop culture or music, was something she loved. She and Makenzie would always try and guess the song that was playing in the car. They loved going to the movies together, watching TV together (especially Jazz games), playing video games, and just making each other laugh. MaLinda endured many challenges in her life, mentally and physically. However, despite how she may have felt, she was always the sweetest person to anyone she would come in contact with. She always greeted people with the prettiest smile and those big blue eyes, full of gratitude. She pushed through so many hard things and for that, many are so proud of her. We are comforted to know and feel that she is happy and at peace on the other side with her mom, unborn grandbaby girl, and Heavenly Father. She is no longer suffering from pain or illness. MaLinda is survived by her daughter Makenzie Petersen; son-in-law Jonah Petersen; father Milton Denison; sisters Charlene Rose, Debra Woodward, Brenda Hollaway, Karla Petersen, Kayla Ju; brother Boyd Denison. MaLinda was preceded by her mother Lola Denison, and nephews Joseph Woodward and Jeremy Holloway. Services will be held Thursday, August 5th, at an LDS chapel located at 8670 S 220 E Sandy, Utah 84070. Viewing begins at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Graveside will be immediately followed at Larkins Sunset Gardens.
