I remember Marcia who shared her home in Brown's Meadow subdivision in West Jordan for our Ward choir. I also shared memories of her at the Gene Fullmer swimming pool where she faithfully worked out to strengthen her body. She was enjoyable to chat with and a sweet friend. Verlene Wiley
I loved getting to chat with Marcia in the ward library. She had so many skills, but was always willing to serve others on Sunday by leaving meetings early to be sure the library was open and accessible. She always had a smile for me and my family, even when I was slow to return library materials, or when my 6-year-old's church shoes ended up in the Lost and Found section of the library!
My greatest memories of Marcia are all her amazing meals that she made. She had a gift for making everything look perfect. I remember the first Christmas I celebrated with the Ekstrom’s, we literally spent hours making chocolates. It's one of my fondest memories. What I wouldn't give for a batch of that perfect toffee!
I'm also grateful for the time she stayed in my home while she was waiting to finish the build of a her new home. Pretty sure she cooked dinner every night. One night she taught me how to make a peach pie, from fresh peaches. I couldn't believe that I grew up on a fruit farm and had never made a fresh peach pie. I'm telling you, it was to die for. To this day, I still make this pie. It's in my cookbook from all those years ago. I added a photo, so everyone can go make one as soon as we get fresh Utah peaches! I'm telling you this is the best pie you have ever had!
