Mary Helen Heimbigner

January 13, 1930 - August 22, 2018

Mary Helen Heimbigner passed away peacefully at home August 22, 2018 with family. She was born January 13, 1930 in Maeser (Vernal), UT to Lloyd and Eva (McConkie) Merkley, the oldest of five children raised on the family farm. She graduated from Uintah High School in 1948 and moved to Salt Lake City to take business classes at Stevens-Henager College. She married Verne M Heimbigner on Christmas Day in 1953. Due to his civilian work with the military, they had to opportunity to travel the world and live in Okinawa, Japan, and Germany in addition to many places in the United States. He proceeded her in death in 2002. Together they had seven children who travelled with them all around the world. She worked for the US government for 30 years, where she enjoyed many different positions. She was very active in the LDS Church and served many callings wherever she lived. She always helped others whenever possible. Mary Helen is survived by her sister Ardis (Ray) Beers and brother Harold (Kay) Merkley in addition to her children, Michael (Wendy) Heimbigner, Marlen (Laurie) Heimbigner, Patricia (Kelly) Taylor, Marvern (Kellie) Heimbigner, David Heimbigner. She had 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was proceeded in death by her parents and her brother Leo (Diane) and sister Arlene in addition to her sons Mark and Conrad. She will be interred next to Verne at the Utah Veterans Cemetery at Camp Williams.
