Maxine Child Treseder

Maxine Child Treseder, Pleasant Grove, Utah December 13, 2017 Maxine came into the world September 10, 1937 in Ogden, Utah, the only child of Grant and Marvilla Thornton Child. Maxine had a great love of life and the many experiences and opportunities she was given. She especially enjoyed her school years, her friendships throughout her life, and her family. Maxine and Sterling met after Sterling returned home from his mission and they attended college together. They were married on August 29, 1957 in the Salt Lake Temple. They raised their family in Napa, California for 30 years before retiring to Utah. They were blessed to serve a mission in Athens, Greece. It was one of the highlights of their lives. A variety of church callings throughout her life taught her respect for the sacred and an appreciation for the human race. Maxine had a great love for family history; she tried to encourage others in this work and shared her writing with family and friends. She found that “life is measured in moments, not years, in sharing love, and the cherished memories we hold in our hearts and the blessings we enjoy along the way.” Maxine was most thankful for her husband Sterling, her wonderful children, their spouses, her delightful 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren for making her life so full and happy. Sterling helped Maxine to be a stronger person, encouraged her when she was down, and taught her about sacrifice and to face pain with courage and dignity. Most of all Sterling gave her love, and she felt blessed to have him for her forever companion. Maxine is survived by her husband Sterling, their children Kristine Hart, Nanette and Gary Moser, Leslie Ann and Steve Chapman, her 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Her beloved children Jill, Scott Sterling and baby Michelle preceded her in death. “Don’t grieve for me for now I am free, I’m following the path God laid for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call, turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day to laugh love work or to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way. If my death has left a void then fill them up with remembered joy.” Services will be held on Saturday, December 16, at 11:00 am with a viewing before from 9:00 to 10:30 am at the LDS Church located at 475 N 700 E, Pleasant Grove, Utah.
