Melissa Ann DeLucia

October 6, 1977 - January 21, 2021

On January 21st 2021, we lost a wife, mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin, care taker and friend. Melissa was born on October 6, 1977 to Terry Pierce and Donald DeLucia. Melissa was a born protector of her mother and brother and loved them so much she would do anything. Growing up, you could always find Melissa with her lifelong friends Becky and Danielle out in the neighborhood or dancing at the westerner, she was always the lets just go and do it. Melissa met her husband, Kelsey Thomas Anderson, the love of her life, on March 13th 1998. Melissa and Kelsey Had 2 children Madison Lynn Anderson and Jerick Thomas Anderson her two pride and joys. She loved spending time with her family and friends. You could always pick out her laugh out of any group rather large or small. Whether it was going on camping trips to find every mudpuddle she could play in (get stuck in), making her famous peanut butter balls for hours and recruiting everyone’s help (while she talked and talked and talked). Melissa loved spending time with her family and was always at her happiest when spending time with them. With family and friends, you would often find her watching movies, having game nights, backyard barbeques, swimming, or jumping on the trampoline with the kids. She loved sharing chips and salsa with her grand dog Athena or just listening to the stories of what happened in Madison and Jerick’s day. Often it was the simple things like just making dinner, cuddling up in a nice cozy blanket or being on her long long late-night phone calls with her brother. Melissa loved her work family at Smiths warehouse where she spent 22 years with many friends that turned into another branch of her family. Melissa loved adopting the neighborhood kids and making them her own. Melissa loved getting her friends family and adopted neighborhood family and taking them to Lagoon. She loved caring for anyone and everyone that would come in contact with her. Melissa loved spending time helping her grandparents whether shopping, just going over to chat, doing lunch, bringing over dinners (Chimichangas), cleaning up in the yard or house or just being there to help be the comforting shoulder when needed. She would make it her priority to help others before she would help herself, spending hours helping while silently suffering from her own ailments. She was preceded in death by Her Grandpa Pierce, Dad Lavon Anderson, Grandma and Grandpa Bell, Grandma Carolyn, Uncle Randy Pierce. She is survived by her Grandmother Shirleen Pierce, Mother Terry Winters, Father Donald DeLucia and family, Scott Bell Brother and family, Larry Pierce and family, Debbie Rossander and family, Barbara Pierce and family, Mother in law Susan Lujan and family, Eric Anderson and family, Ashlee Nelson and family. Services be held Saturday, January 30th, 5 - 5:30 for the family, 5:30 - 7 pm for the public at Premier Funeral Services, 5335 So. 1950 W. Roy. In Lieu of flowers the family would request donations be given to St Jude Children Hospital Melissa always wanted to make donations to them.
