Mitchell Scott Quayle

October 24, 1955 - June 5, 2012

Mitchell (Scott) Quayle, loving father and devoted husband, passed away on the morning of June all as he succumbed to a rare and aggressive form of melanoma that took a mere month from diagnosis to run its course. He was born on October 24th, 1955 to Grant and Darl Quayle. He married Christine (Chrissy) McCombs, his high school sweetheart, and went on to father three children – Thomas, Sian and Missy. He was also fortunate to be blessed with three grandchildren – Karson, Chloee and Whitney. Scott was truly the most self-sacrificing and devoted husband and father. He was just as dedicated in the service of the Lord. His integrity and commitment ran throughout his busy life. He was also our “Good Humor” man., and had a real funny bone in him. He was the true “Romeo” to his “Juliet”. He and his wife were married and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple, able to enjoy 38 years of marriage in this life, with more to come in the eternities. He served faithfully in many callings, though his longest and most enjoyed was as a Ward Mission Leader. His full-time job was with L3 Communications, where he worked diligently for 30 years. Scott never viewed his work as a job, however, but as his second family - a family that honored him in the end with an amazing gift that spoke of the deep and abiding friendships that he forged with them. His family would also like to thank his local ward for all of the service and unconditional love and help given to him and Chrissy in all aspects. It made all the difference to the family, and gave peace and a ray of heaven to be comforted with in his final hours. He made countless friends and loved, and was loved, by all. In life he loved spending time with his family camping, going on vacations and most of all cruises. Bon Voyage! Services to celebrate his life for those of you that knew him and desire to do so will be as follows: Tuesday June 12 - Viewing 6pm-8pm @ 410 E. Shelley Lane Chapel, Grantsville, UT. Wednesday June 13 - Viewing 10am at same location followed by his funeral at 11am - with a noon-ish luncheon for any family ties (current and past), close friends and those who helped with his medical support. (same location) Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park - 3401 Highland Dr. in Holladay at 3pm that same afternoon.
