Nancy Crane Bowden Edwards Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Nancy Edwards died peacefully at St. Joseph Villa in Salt Lake City, Utah on Saturday, November 22, at the age of 85. Nancy was born on February 26, 1929 in Baltimore, Maryland to Marion and Joseph Bowden. She graduated from Seton High School in Baltimore in 1946. On May 4, 1951, Nancy married R. Warren Edwards. After a 20 year career with the Baltimore County Public Library, Nancy and Warren spent many years traveling to all 50 states in the country before moving to Utah in 2003. Nancy will be especially remembered for her unique laugh, passion for books, and devotion to her family. Nancy is survived by her husband, Warren, three children: Susan Whatley (and husband, John) of Richardson, Texas, Cathy Quinn of South Jordan, Utah, and Doug Edwards (and wife Annemarie) of Riverton, Utah, three grandchildren: “Johnny Angel” Whatley, Alysa Edwards, and Sean Edwards, and brother, Jack Bowden (and wife Susan) of Finksburg, Maryland. A graveside service is being held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Utah State Veterans Cemetery, Camp Williams in Bluffdale, Utah. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are welcome and can be made to Nancy’s favorite charity, Covenant House (www.covenanthouse.org). The family would like to thank all the caregivers at St. Joseph Villa for their extraordinary and compassionate care of Nancy during the last few weeks of her life.
