We are deeply saddened to announce that our Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Friend Natividad Rodas Lima passed away peacefully in her home on February 15, 2013 in Taylorsville, Utah. Naty was born to Candelaria Alfaro and Carlos Rodas on September 8, 1951 in Huehuetenango, Guatemala. She grew up in the city of Quetzaltenango being raised by her mother. She loved elementary school and was proud to be an honor student. Marrying Ariel Lopez at a very young age, she started her family and dedicated her teenage years to be the best mother to four girls. She's survived by her daughters Gladys Muralles, Isela Lopez, Son-in-law Artie Saunders, Maribel de Legrand, Son-in-law Michel Legrand, Monica Rodas and son-in-law Shane Hayes; By her son Jose Lima from her second marriage to Antonio Lima; and her 10 grandkids Marco Jr Muralles, Mitchel Jr Legrand, Ma. Alejandra Queme, Christian Muralles, Ashley Legrand, Itati Gonzalez, Aroldo Jr Gonzalez, Alexander Muralles, Aixa Legrand, Kaelee Hayes and one great-grandkid Alexzander Flores whose she was the best grandmother to. While she lived in Guatemala she loved to travel to the United States, so much so that she moved to Utah in 1995. She was a hard worker always aspiring for a better life, trying to live the American Dream. Once living in Utah she never stopped visiting her country home Guatemala, where she still had family and friends. She was loved and admired by many because of her big heart. She always enjoyed cooking and would make the best Guatemalan recipes for everyone to enjoy. She was an independent, strong, loving, hard worker, full of energy, happy-until-the-end kind of woman. The family wishes to thank all the wonderful physicians and caregivers over at the ALS U of U Clinic, Prestige Home Health and Summit Hospice for all their care and support over the last year while fighting Lou Gehrig's disease.
