Ora Nell Anglesey
September 9, 1936 - April 11, 2022
Ora Nell Schaugaard Anglesey, age 85, passed away at her home on April 11, 2022 with loved ones by her side. She was born September 9, 1936, in Payson, Utah to Daniel H and Mary Estella Schaugaard. She was the fourth of five children, 4 girls and 1 boy. She went to school in Payson and graduated from Payson high school where she was in many plays and was senior ball queen (she loved to tell the grandkids that). She loved living in Payson and had many fond memories there. After graduation she married Gordon F. Hiatt. Together they had 4 children Mike, Tony, Kay and Dennis. They were later divorced. She later married LaMont W. Anglesey. They lived in Granger and then moved to Taylorsville where they spent most of their married life. Mom loved her kids and would do anything for them. When the grandkids started coming, mom loved it! She would have slumber parties with the little ones, no matter how young. She had her foam pads that would fill the living room floor and they would spend the night with grandma sleeping on the floor with them. Whatever the grandkids did she was there with them, sitting at the kids table for Thanksgiving, cooking or running through the sprinklers, grandma was with them. Mom will be remembered for her great sense of humor. This helped her get through a lot of hard times in her life. She taught us to do the same and it has been passed down to other generations. Mom was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved her Savior and tried to serve him throughout her life. She served in many callings during her life, primary teacher, den mother, relief society teacher and relief society president. Whatever the calling was she served with all her heart. Mom spent most of her career working at Salt Lake Community College. First in the English department helping students, then in the media center. During this time, she always loved to help those in need. There were many people whose lives were made better because of her. She retired at the age of 74. Ora Nell is survived by her loving children: Anthony (Ginny) Hiatt, Summit Park, UT; Kay (Jeff) Thurman, Highland, UT; Dennis (Josie) Hiatt, Broomfield, CO; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, LaMont W. Anglesey; Son, Michael G. Hiatt; Grandson, Brooks Hiatt; Sisters, Lola Taylor, Luva Hiatt, Julia Daley and brother, Glen Schaugaard. Viewing and funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at the Heritage Park 1st Ward, 4986 South Valois Dr., Taylorsville, UT. Viewing from 9:30-10:45 am. Funeral services at 11:00 am. Interment at the West Jordan City Cemetery, 7925 South 1300 West, West Jordan UT. We would like to thank Scarlett Francis, a sweet friend, for her love and care she showed to both LaMont and Ora Nell, and special thanks to Canyon Home Care and Hospice for the love that you gave our mom.
