October 10, 1991 - March 29, 2020
Rebecca "Becky" Florence passed away peacefully Sunday, March 29, 2020 at the young age of 28. We are grateful for each day, especially the last four years as she fought synovial sarcoma. Born October 10, 1991 in San Francisco, CA to Robert & Kathy Arnold, she grew up in Clovis, CA, and attended Dry Creek Elementary, Alta Sierra Intermediate and Buchanan High School. Becky attended BYU-Idaho studying graphic arts before marrying Matthew Florence May 29, 2010 in the Fresno Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Becky loved life. She was spunky and funny and sometimes sarcastic. She loved to create an Occasion (with a capital O). She could custom design an invitation and coordinate the decorations to match. She would create special foods and games. She loved playing the piano and singing. She had a knack for graphic arts where she worked under the name of Pineapple Princess Design Co., and had some of her designs purchased by Latter-Day Bookstore & More in the U.K. In January she participated in an investigational study for her cancer. One last time she went through chemo and the grueling sickness that accompanies it. She hoped to benefit many others. The tumors that were filling her lungs and creeping close to her heart began to shrink! Our joy and gratitude was without bounds. But then the respiratory infection that sometimes follows bone marrow transplant claimed her life. We are grateful for her courage and desire to stay with her family. We pray that her sacrifice blesses other cancer patients. She leaves behind her husband Matthew, sons Adam (8), Hyrum (6) and Brigham (4), her parents Robert and Kathy Arnold and younger siblings, Katie Arnold, Wesley Arnold and Tim Arnold, along with Matt's parents Dale and Wendy Florence and his siblings Daniel Florence, Emily Hunsaker, Alissa Hunsaker, Jacob Florence, Kaitlyn Butterfield and Joshua Florence. We have to imagine that in her first moments free from her body she went immediately to her boys with messages of love. She was loved by all who knew her well and she was so willing to share love, kindness and service. Becky loves her Savior, Jesus Christ, and chose "that good part" of following Him. She will be missed, but we look forward to the time when we will be with her again. A viewing for family and friends will be held Friday, April 3rd, 12:00 - 2:30 pm at Premier Funeral Services, 67 E. 8000 So. Midvale, Utah, with graveside services to follow at 3:00 pm at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 E. 4580 So. Millcreek, Utah. Services will be streamed live on Facebook - Mountain Standard Time.
