Richard Mangum Bradford, Sr.

September 5, 1944 - July 28, 2012

Richard Mangum Bradford Sr, 67 passed away after a valiant and courageous fight with cancer on Saturday, July 28. He was born in SLC, UT on September 5, 1944 to Clive L and Leila Bradford. He was married to the love of his life, Susan Walters Bradford, and was blessed with 7 wonderful children. Richard truly personified what a good man should be: a man of dignity, courage, kindness, and integrity. He was a teacher in the purest form; spending countless hours counseling his children, his friends, coworkers, and neighbors, helping all to be the best person they could be. Richard had such a passion for music. He put together music groups with the neighborhood kids, lent instruments to kids in need, and loved to jam with friends in his home. He instilled a love of music in each of his children, singing them to sleep each night with his guitar. Richard was a wonderful husband who respected his wife, and always put her first. Even during his battle with brain cancer, his first concern was for her care and happiness. He made Susan laugh every day of their marriage. Humor was a staple in their home. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Susan, and seven children: Kathryn (Todd) Northrop, Wendy Bradford, Scott (Cami) Bradford, Andy Bradford, Rick Bradford, Jennie (Thor) Everson, Elizabeth Bradford, and ten grandchildren. Richard is also survived by his siblings, Roger (Hollie) Bradford, Susan (Dave) Clark, David (Martha) Bradford, and Candy Bradford. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to Encompass Hospice for their kind and loving care of Richard. “Eternity isn’t long enough”. Funeral services will be held Wednesday Aug 1 at 11:00 at the Sunset Stake Center, 1100 West 1560 South, Provo with a visitation Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 and again at 10 am one hour prior to the service at the same location
