Richard "Richie" Mark Dibble

June 16, 1981 - April 2, 2017

Richard “Richie” Mark Dibble 1981 - 2017 Richard (Richie) Mark Dibble, 35, passed away from an unexplained health event on April 2, 2017 and returned to his Fathers’ loving arms. He was born on June 16, 1981 to David and Jill Dibble in Sandy, Utah where he was surrounded by loving siblings, leaders and friends who helped fill his childhood with fun and shenanigans, along with feelings of safety and friendship. He attended Hillcrest High School where he made many lifelong friends. He served an LDS mission in Chicago, Illinois and he loved every part of that experience. Richie married Laura Babcock in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 9, 2005. He was overwhelmed with the love he felt for his sweetheart, Laura. He loved her deeply. He was a fiercely devoted daddy to Boston (9), Lilah (7), Reagan (4), and Bennett (8 months). Everything he did was for them. They were foremost in his thoughts as he was determined to provide for them in every way. If you saw Richie walking around wearing pink nail polish, you knew he had been the source of delight and giggles for his girls. The short time they had with him was packed with joy, laughter and immense love. Adventure was always calling to Richie and he was more than happy to answer. Whether he was backpacking through Europe, cliff jumping at Lake Powell or hiking with his kids, he loved pushing himself to learn new things, meet new people and accomplish his many goals. Richie and Laura loved to travel together and experience new cultures and enjoy the beauty of the world. They loved taking their kids with them and have created wonderful memories as a family, as they have expanded their view of all that the world has to offer. Through his many travels, Richie found a love of cooking and experimenting with new flavors. It was always a treat to see what new creation Uncle Richie was bringing to the next party. He was a gracious and generous host and made you feel loved and welcomed in his home. His enthusiasm and zest for life were contagious, as were his smile and laugh. And Richie always had a kind word to say when he saw you and could make you feel special with a hug, his big smile or a simple wave hello. He loved people and found joy in serving others. He served faithfully in many church callings including Elders Quorum President and instructor, Sunday School teacher and Primary teacher. He loved being a teacher and sharing his testimony of the gospel and of Jesus Christ. His final hours were spent serving those he loved most as well as those he had just met. He lived his life as an example of genuine friendship and of faith. He leaves an enormous hole in our hearts. He is survived by his wife Laura, their children, his mother, Jill Dibble, brothers Kenneth (Angie), Gregory (Mindy), David (Stephanie) Nick (Melina), Sister Rebecca (Brad) Condie. Many Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews who loved being around him, and his bonus Babcock family, whom he loved. He is preceded in death by his father, David G. Dibble. Funeral Services will be 12:00 Noon, Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the LDS Church located at 5424 Rosecrest Road, Herriman, UT. There will be a viewing at the church Friday, April 7, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Saturday prior to services from 10:00 to 11:30 am. Since Richie brought so much light to others, we ask that you wear something bright in honor of him. We hope that you will continue to share his "love for Life" with others. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Dibble Children's Mission and College Fund please go into any Mountain American Branch. Thank you for your prayers, love and support.
