Samantha Nicole Ortega Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Samantha Nicole Ortega passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on Sunday, October 28, 2012, presumably due to a seizure. Samantha was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on November 30, 1979 to Rea Ortega. Samantha graduated from Horizonte High School in 1998 and worked for many years at the Salt Lake corporate offices of J.C. Penny Company. She recently began working at Columbus Community Center. The love of Samantha’s life was her son, Jonathan. Happiness to her was always having a large, loving, close-knit group of family and friends. Samantha was an active member of the LDS Church. Samantha is survived by her son Jonathan Ortega, her mother Rea Ortega and step-father Frank Archuleta , grandmother Olivia Ortega, her siblings Bryan, Joey, Danielle, and Delores, sisters-in-law Charissa and Kourtney, nephews Troy, Nicholas, Juan, and Jayden, Aunts and Uncles Tony, Tina, and Troy, and many loving cousins and dear friends. Samantha was preceded in death by her aunt Cindy Zaragoza, step-father Fred Otero and grandfather Tony Ortega Sr. A graveside Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 2, 2012, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, located at 1342 East Fifth South in Salt Lake City, Utah. Floral offerings should be delivered directly to the Cemetery on the morning of the service. The family extends special thanks to doctors, friends and neighbors, who helped Samantha through some difficult health issues in recent months.
