Serge Neff Taylor
October 5, 1952 - June 5, 2021
Serge Neff Taylor, 68, passed away after a hard-fought battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, June 5, 2021. We are comforted by the thought that he was welcomed by his father, his granddaughter, and many others who have gone on before him with the same loving embrace that he last felt from his family on earth. He was born October 5, 1952, in Syracuse, New York to Charles and Frances Taylor. Serge was a successful and talented engineer with a brilliant mind. He retired as president of Smith’s Interconnect/Trak of Tampa, Florida after over thirty years with the company. Serge was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and modeled his life after his Savior. He served in many capacities in the church, such as Bishop, Boy Scout leader, Sunday School teacher, high councilman. Serge was a quiet, humble example of the gospel. He has been happily devoted to his wife Julie for 43 wonderful years. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity. They enjoyed spending their time traveling the world, but Serge was happy anywhere when he was with his family. As a father, Serge was always patient, loving, and supportive. He never wavered in his dedication, and he led by his big-hearted spirit – he was truly a gentle giant. Serge was a proud grandpa to two wonderful boys: Chaz (13) and Phoenix (10) and was a calming presence in their lives. He is survived by his wife Julie, a daughter, Kristin, two grandsons, Charles (Chaz) and Phoenix, his mother, Frances, two sisters, Ardis Padgett and Karen Brooks, brother-in-law Dave Brooks, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles, and granddaughter, Lily. Private memorial services will be held for the family in Florida. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Serge’s name.
