Sheldon Ray Hansen our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother passed away Friday December 18, 2020 after dealing many years with Alzheimer's. Born February 28, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the first of three children to L. Ray and LaVerne Hansen. He married Gail Caroline Purchase on August 22, 1961 in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity. He graduated from Granite High School where he was the captain of the ski team and then attended The University of Utah where he received his Bachelor's degree in Business Management. Sheldon then went on to run his own successful financial planning business. When he was 14 years old he worked at his dad's gas station, Hansen's Service, where he was sometimes put in charge of closing the station if his dad was out of town. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission for the church in the Western States Mission. He loved spending time with his family at the Bear Lake cabin and loved to boat and water ski on the lake. He also loved to just sit and watch his grandchildren play on the beach. He was preceded in death by his daughter Lindsay and survived by his wife Gail and 8 children, Tammy (Mark) Vasic, Shelly Coburn, Russell (Stephanine) Hansen, Brad (Cindy Hansen), Wendy (Darrin) Webster, Cory (Alyssa) Hansen, Summer Hansen and Kyle Hansen also his sister Judy Dunford and his brother Dale (Marion) Hansen, 26 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. We hope you always know Dad how much we love you and how much you will be missed but we know you are in a much better place now released from your mortal body. Funeral services will be held Monday December 28th at 11:00am with a viewing from 10:00-10:45am at the Ivory Ridge Chapel 175 E 3200 N Lehi Utah. Masks are required. Interment will be at 1:00 pm, at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S Highland Drive Salt Lake City, Utah.
