Stephen George Hallstrom

May 24, 1943 - October 4, 2011

Stephen George Hallstrom born to Alma Wayne and Harriet June Llewellyn on May 24, 1943 at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. He grew up in the Avenues of Salt Lake City with his three brothers, Phillip, Christopher and Richard. He graduated from East High School and honorably served the Lord on a full time mission to Finland and New York in 1962. He was married in the Salt Lake Temple to Barbara Ann Houston on April 16, 1965. He graduated with a BA in English from the University of Utah. He enjoyed reading, woodworking, genealogy, drawing, hiking and listening to jazz music. He joyfully served the Lord in various capacities to include being a Veil Worker at the Jordan River and Salt Lake Temples, a Stake Missionary and a High Priest Quorum Teacher. He fought over the last few years against progressive health issues. He spent his last days at home with family returning to his Father in Heaven on October 4, 2011. No doubt he is already hard at work there. He is survived by his wife Barbara, children, Rochelle, Forrest (Angie), Mindy (Peter), and eight doting grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Monday, October 10, 2011 at the Copper Hills 8th Ward, 5349 West 9000 South, West Jordan, UT with a viewing 10:00 am at the church prior to the services. Interment at the West Jordan City Cemetery.
