Steven Charles Garrison

November 25, 1948 - November 15, 2021

Obituary – Steven Charles Garrison – 11/25/1948 – 11/15/2021 Steven Charles Garrison only son of Robert A. Garrison and Jackquetta M. Garrison; passed away November 15th in Bountiful, Utah. He was preceded in death by his wife of forty years Ula (Munro) Garrison (4/7/1950 - 1/31/2019). The couple had no children but leave behind many cousins, nieces and nephews from both side of the family. He is survived by two sisters, Lori Dunn and Peggy Frye. Steve was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and raised in Southern California. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the US Coast Guard. He served as a sonar man on the “point of no return” patrol in the mid Pacific and also at the Captain of the Port office in San Francisco, California. After leaving the Coast Guard Steve worked many jobs in law enforcement. He was with the Humbolt County Sheriffs office, Winnemucca, Nevada and the Elko City Police, Elko, Nevada. He also served as security at several gold mines in the state. He retired from the US Postal Service having worked in Tonopah, Nevada and as the Post Master in Gabbs and Eureka, Nevada. Steve and Ula were members of the Church of the Latter Day Saints. During their marriage they hosted several foreign exchange students many of whom stayed in contact for many years. Steve was an avid science fiction fan and was always reading a new book. He was also an avid outdoorsman and active and well known on several bush craft forums. He collected knives and firearms. Per Steve’s wishes there will be no service or funeral. His family is asking that if you feel inclined please make a donation in his name to the National Kidney Foundation, The American Heart Association or The American Cancer society. We will miss you and always remember your always present irreverent and sharp sense of humor. You could always make us laugh. We love you. Always.
