Thomas Daniel “Danny” Boone On Saturday, October 3, 2020, Thomas Daniel Boone of Clinton, Utah went home to be with the Lord. Some of his last words were, “I love my Lord.” His greatest wish would be that you love the Lord as well. Graveside services will be held at Boone Cemetery in Purvis, MS on November 7, 2020 at 11am. Services will be conducted by Dr. Ryan Ruckel, pastor of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, with additional words from Larry Claburn, cousin, and Theresa Nagy Wade, cousin. Masks and social distancing required. Thomas Daniel Boone, known alternately as Danny or Boone to friends and family, grew up in the Dixie Pine area of Hattiesburg, MS and attended the Forrest County Agricultural High School. He obtained a vocational degree in automotive/diesel repair at Pear River Junior College and worked as a Shop Foreman at Murray Envelope before becoming a Mechanic Specialist at Chevron. After retiring from Chevron, Danny continued to find purpose in various fields, where he worked at Marvin’s Home Improvement, Blossman Gas, and with the Petal School District to name a few. He also pursued a degree in Bible Studies from Liberty University, completing all course credit requirements. Danny Boone had numerous hobbies from boating and reading to challenging people in political discussion online. He was a caring soul and would always make great strides in helping anyone who needed him. He is preceded in death by his father, Joe Boone, a World War II vet and Omaha Beach survivor, and his mother, Mildred Sally Graham Boone, who worked in retail until she retired. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Jean Hurt Boone of Clinton, Utah; two sons: Joe Daniel “J.D.” Boone (Shannon), of Marshall, TX; and Thomas Joel “T.J.” Boone, of Clinton, Utah; granddaughter Chloe Gabriella (Papa’s Doodlebug) Boone; and his sister, Joan Marie Boone Sims, and nephew, Andrew Daniel Sims, both of Petal, MS.
