Dr. William T. Black

July 7, 1933 - August 21, 2018

William Thomas Black, M.D. 1933 - 2018 Born of an angel mother Ethel Golsan and father James Black in Salt Lake City, Utah, 7 July 1933. Preceded in death by all siblings Marian, Myrtle, Marie, Verna, Brig, Bob and son Daniel. Attended South High and University of Utah,1961 M.D. General Surgery Mt. Sinai Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio. Family practice and general surgery in California, Utah, Ohio, Irian Jaya, Indonesia. Lt. Colonel U. S. Army, served in Vietnam. Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Served in the West German Mission (1953-1956) and faithfully in many callings. Author of Mormon Athletes, Books 1 & 2, Deseret Book. Father and steward of 12 children: Lindsay Bennion (Stephanie), Stephanie, Robert, Jon, Lona Sippola (Martin) David (Cindy), Cynthia, Chris Bennion, David Bennion (Kriste), Tim (Bonnie) Kristina, Mark. The quote of Abraham Lincoln, Everything I am or hope to be I owe to my angel mother and my virtuous, pure and loving wife, Sandra, whom I thank for sharing my trials, problems and a great adventure on this earth. May our reunion be God-sanctioned and glorious in the Great Hereafter. My regrets include not having been able to heal all my sick patients and watch all my loved ones feast upon the great truths of the Savior. My life has been challenging, but a remarkable journey. I thank God for allowing me to spend this time on earth, and for all who influenced my heart and soul. A viewing will be held at Utah Veterans Memorial Park Chapel 17111 S Camp Williams Rd, Bluffdale, UT. on the 31st of August at 9:30 AM. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at the same location. A special thanks for loving care to A Plus Hospice. In lieu of flowers please donate to the LDS Humanitarian Fund or your favorite charity.
