For many years the young men of Pleasant View 9th Ward brought the sacrament to Annick every Sunday. The assisgnment to go to her condo was a coveted one because she always had treats for them. And not an oreo-level treat; it had to be the best she could get. So, these teenage boys would get Haagen-Dazs or Lindor or... "Eat the best" was certainly an Annick motto. Several bishops tried to persuade her to stop feeding the "boys." Ha. Tell the sun not to rise. I loved being another happy recipient of her treats when I visited.

I met Annick while working as a student at BYU in the Metadata department of the library. She was such a wonderful woman. I got the chance to know her better when I was asked to help put together and begin transcribing and translating her donation of family photos and documents to the library. Whenever I made ratatouille, I would bring her a big tupperware full. I was able to get back to the library and visit some after graduating, but not nearly as often as I would have liked, or even as often as I could have. I'll always regret not going back as often for visits. Tu vas me manquer, mon amie.
Ma chère cousine, nos conversations nocturnes vont me manquer, nos recherches généalogiques communes, nos échanges de photos N&B et sépia, nos fous rires. I met Annick when I served as a missionary in Dunkirk France in 1972. She was inactive in the church at the time but became active as my companion and I friend-shipped her. She had suffered a severe illness just prior to this and valued life, even of something like a mosquito or fly. We were able to renew our friendship after she came to the United States.
I worked in the Harold B. Lee Library with Annick. I only got to know her toward the end of her career. My daughter was in France serving her mission and Annick and I would talk about France. I loved to visit with her, she was Always happy and snarky with me. One of the last times I visited with her, in the library, she had me push her on a book cart to take her to a wheel car so she could leave the building. She wanted me to push her FASTER. I just loved her!

Annick. I will always remember our shared love of books and the snarky, sassy banter we constantly quipped between each other in our book group. I’ve missed you so much the last few years and would have loved to have you get to know my boys better. You touched my life in ways you’ll never truly know. Please always remember that you are loved, near and far, and that you are missed beyond measure, my friend. You are my kindred spirit and I will anxiously look forward to my next Annick hug.
