So a week ago today I witnessed a horrific accident that claimed the life of a sweet 18 year old girl Kathrynn Shaw just days before her graduation. At the scene of the accident myself and many other people not including any trained professionals, tried to do the best we could to help her and the other two girls in the accident, sadly hours later she left this earth. I went to her viewing today, and it was absolutely beautiful to see everyone that loved her there, as well as the many things she accomplished, by the way this young lady was super talented, kind, loving, and she was a fighter. Her family was so kind, and loving toward me even though they didn't know me. The church was just filled with this unimaginable amount of warmth, not like heat type of warmth but just this warmth that made you feel like Heavenly Father was standing there in that room. I spoke with her parents, and told them how we tried to everything we could, and how it felt like it just wasn't enough, and her mom just looked at me with the warmest smile and told me that, that means it was her time to go because if there's anything she knows about Kathrynn, it's that she is a fighter and she would have fought until she lived, but because she's no longer here that means that it was her time to go. Her comments and warmth just made me feel so much better. It was amazing to see how wonderful her family was, and how eve though they are hurting more than anyone else in that room, they were still trying to help, and comfort other people with their pain. Sadly I did not know Kathrynn, but if she's anything like her parents or her siblings I can guarantee she was an incredible women doing amazing things! Thank you Kathrynn for reminding me to listen to that still small voice in your head, I know I didn't know you, however you and your family, as well as this whole crazy accident had touched my life in ways that I can't explain. I now feel a sense of peace since meeting her family. Everything that happened in Monday lead up to me being in that exact spot at that exact moment. I don't know the exact reason that Heavenly Father needed me there, but what I do know is that this has forever changed my life. Everyone always remember that the laws on the road are there for a reason, and there is no place on this earth that is so important to get there that you should put your life or anyone else's life at risk. Always remember that wherever you are going, I bet people would rather see you there late, than never!
RIP Kathrynn Shaw
