Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Norman “Ray” Lechtenberg passed away on Thursday December 14th at his home in Roy, Utah. He was born September 25, 1948 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Eldon R. and Norma L. (Skancky) Lecht Read Obituary
Dear Lechtenberg Family,
Although our paths crossed briefly, we were honored to have met Ray, and other family members, who loved him very much.
He has brightened this world and his memory will continue to live on through the wonderful legacy he helped create.

I understand that no words can ease the pain you are experiencing at this moment. He always made me feel welcome and treated me with kindness whenever I encountered him. It was evident that he cherished his family deeply. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.
Ray was an amazing fisherman because no matter where we went as a family Ray could catch fish at Yellowstone, Bear Lake, Lava Hot Springs or anywhere there was a body of water. Ray was an amazing swimmer & I remember he was in a State swim meet & he would never tell the family where the meet was being held but our Mom found out & me, Mom & Dad were able to see Ray medal in the Butterfly! We were so super proud of Ray❤️. But of course the most famous memory of all was the annual family ride around Bear Lake. Back in the sixties the east side of Bear Lake was a rough rocky road & our Dad was very frugal & would always buy retread tires so we were having a very fun & scenic ride around the lake until we got to the east side where the back tire went flat & it happened to be the side where Ray was sitting & our Dad under stress doesn’t do well & gets very excited & says things he really doesn’t mean so we had a spare tire & Dad & Ray changed it but Dad told Ray he needed to sit on the opposite side of the car so the tire won’t go flat. We then continued the ride & we went about one more mile & the other tire where Ray was sitting went flat & our Dad lost it & told Ray he was to never to sit on either side of the car ever again so from now on Ray was suppose to always sit in the middle. Poor Ray as all of us kids were on pins & needles & we felt sorry for him but at the same time glad we weren’t Ray. Fortunately, a car happened to come by & seen the situation & took my Dad & the flat tire into Laketown to get repaired. So we did make it back to our cabin & that was the last family ride around the lake. I think the moral to this story is don’t buy retread tires! Ray was the oldest brother & set a great example for the rest of us kids to follow! You are loved & you will be missed🥰
Dad loved fresh tomatoes and this was part of his harvest from the Tomato plant the kids gave him for a Father’s Day in a terra-cotta pot they each custom painted their own section of the pot for him!
