Aaron Martin Mitchell's Obituary
We lost our dear son, brother, and father, Aaron Martin Mitchell, on February 21, 2015. He was born in Seattle, Washington on July 30, 1970 and raised in Spokane, Washington. He has lived in the Salt Lake Valley for 18 years. The love of his life was his beautiful daughter, Adasynn Belle, who is his living legacy. He treasured the time they had together and felt she was his greatest blessing in life. Aaron was best friends with all his siblings and considered his parents as his strength. His mother was his closest confidant. Aaron loved all things sports and was a devoted Seahawks fan. He could talk details and statistics about any sport to anyone at any time. He was a key member of several championship caliber rec teams, and enjoyed the fruits of victory. Aaron had a soft spot for helping others and was a mentor at Valley Mental Health. He developed tender relationships, as a mentor, that continued through the rest of his life. He was an avid Scrabble player and read the dictionary to learn new words. He also enjoyed reading both fiction and non-fiction. Aaron was well-versed in the lore of both Star Wars and Star Trek, and enjoyed the debate over which universe would win in a battle, and provided the better entertainment. Aaron taught his daughter how to swim at a very young age. He took her swimming as often as possible. Enjoying the challenge of a new career, Aaron worked as a financial analyst, manager, and in other responsible positions. Aaron's keen intellect motivated him to reach the highest levels of academia with a doctorate degree in law from the University of Utah. Aaron cherished relationships and maintained lifelong friendships as evidence that love was essential in his life. His favorite thing to do was to spend time with his family. Aaron is survived by his daughter, Adasynn Belle Mitchell; his parents, John Clarke Mitchell, Jr. and Marilyn Joy Johnson Mitchell; three brothers and two sisters: John Clarke Mitchell III (Shannon), Matthew Mitchell, Lisa Larkin, Amy Walsh (Tracy), and Jeffrey Mitchell (Bethany). He has joined his maternal grandparents and his paternal grandfather in the spirit world. We remember him with the scripture he grew to love in the last few months of his life: Alma 14:26 "And Alma cried, saying: How long shall we suffer these great afflictions, O Lord? O Lord, give us strength according to our faith which is in Christ, even unto deliverance..."
