Obituary for Aiolupotea Sinavaiana Tanuvasa Aiolupotea Tonumaipea Su’a
It is with heavy hearts that we humbly announce the passing of our beloved mother, aunty, and sister – Aiolupotea Sinavaiana Tanuvasa Aiolupotea Tonumaipea Su’a. She passed peacefully on the 5th day of January of the 2024th year of our Lord. She was called home while residing with her sister in North Salt Lake City, Utah, and left this mortal existence at approximately 3:15 am resting peacefully and has left behind her dear son Tiamalo Tonumaipea Juan Aiolupotea and daughter-in-law Fanuasa Aiolupotea. Her surviving siblings include (from eldest) Naomi Ainge, Oliniviola Tauvao, Olevia Sellesin, Leutogitupaitea Flood, and Lopeti Aiolupotea, Jr. She was born to Lopeti Aiolupotea, Sr. and Suitupe Mauai Aiolupotea in Foailuga, Samoa. Her father worked effortlessly to migrate his family to the US and as a result she went to Vaiola Elementary in Savaii and moved to Pesega College in Apia, Samoa before graduating from Mapusaga High School in American Samoa. She faithfully served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at the California Arcadia Mission. Returning with honor to their home now in Laie, Hawaii, she obtained her Associate Degree in TESL at the Brigham Young University Hawaii campus. She ended her pursuit of higher education to look after her sick father full-time until he passed in 1983 after which she fulfilled her fathers' final wish to marry a certain prestigious Samoan high chief the week after her father's funeral. Not long after their wedding her husband fell sick and she cared for him for 3 long years before his passing. Almost a decade later she gave birth to her only son in 1993 whom she loved dearly and raised strictly. She loved her family dearly and was always full of life. Her final services to celebrate her life will be held on the 11th of January 2024 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints chapel located 55 E 350 N NSL, UT 84054. The family service will begin at 9:30 am which will be followed by the bishop's service and burial at Memorial Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeview.
