Big Al brought all things wonderful into our lab at Thiokol … His happiness was contagious… his love and kindnesses defined him…he was admired and loved and so humble… We remained friends, as did our mothers who worked together at JCPenney, and for many years we met up at Bert‘s Café on Peach Days for a reunion… Just to enjoy the time we spent together to chew the fat, laugh out loud about our past experiences at work and hope for thefuture and laugh… He brought so much joy… and then he wasn’t there… I didn’t see Colleen or his kids at their usual place during the parade… I didn’t know until today, 12 February 2025, when I Googled his name. that he had passed… losing dear friends, especially unexpectedly, leaves me numb… Every emotion is frozen in place…He was the epitome of joy, especially when it came to his wife and kids… who he loved more than life itself… passing breaks my heart … I have lost a wonderful friend… Someone who truly cared about others… Whose passion and calling was to help others … he was and foreverwill be a true disciple of Christ… thank you, Alan, for being in our lives, especially mine, and thank you

To the Oviatt Family,

We were so very sorry to hear of Alan's passing. Since your daughter Mindy married into our family, we have loved sharing family outings together. Alan was one of the kindest, sweetest people. He loved his family, and especially his sweet grandchildren, and had patience of gold for all of them. He always had a fun story or joke to tell. We will certainly miss him. He never complained through all of his health struggles, but instead had a smile when greeting you. Remember him always, and mourn for him - as that is how you will all heal. We know he will always be up there looking after you and protecting you.

My heart was truly saddened to learn of Alan's passing. He always stood out a mile to me as one of the kindest and genuinely true friends anyone could ever hope for. He was a fabulous athlete and therefore idolized by all of his classmates. He was also very witty and fun-loving. I remember how delighted my sister and I were when he asked us to sing at his mission farewell. I also remember the joy in his countenance when he got engaged to marry his beautiful wife. I never saw anyone more thrilled to be getting married than sweet Alan. I extend my sincere best wishes to his wonderful wife and children with the heartwarming assurance of knowing that they will be together again forever! Until we meet again. . . . .

I remember Alan from. his brief time in Willard, in the 7th grade. A good friend and classmate before and after school and at recess. Then we caught up again in high school where he excelled in sports and other activities but never ever let it go to his head, always a good bud when you needed one. I hope the family is blessed with good memories of a good man and wonderful priesthood holder....thanks Richard Watts.
