Alan David Presnell's Obituary
Alan David Presnell September 7, 1946 - November 11, 2025. Alan David Presnell passed away at his home on November 11, 2025. Through his journey of 79 years he touched many lives with his wisdom, humor, and service.
He was born to Willis Lorenzo and Julia Mabel Presnell on September 7, 1946 and raised in Ogden, Utah with his siblings. He had a very adventurous childhood swinging like Tarzan across the creek at his home and building underground forts and never stopped finding adventures after that.
He served a mission in Sweden for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and came home with a testimony, a love for the gospel and the Book of Mormon and some unforgettable Swedish recipes that made regular appearances at family dinners.
After his mission he continued to live a life full of love and service to God, his family, his country and all those around him. He served as a scoutmaster, bishop, gospel doctrine teacher, young men's leader, primary teacher and pretty much everything in between. He loved visiting his neighbors and baking bread for them during the holidays. He also continued his adventures backpacking, hiking, playing basketball, running, gardening, taking his grandkids fishing and attending their ball games/activities, and watching BYU sports. He always had a project in the works, a joke to tell, and a fix for just about anything.
David served in the Army Reserves for eight years and worked for Globe Seafood, Pacific Seafood, and Sam's Club - though his favorite job was with the Forest Service, where he could enjoy the great outdoors.
He married Patricia Anne Clark on January 9, 1970, and together they raised five children. Krista (Evan) Law, Kerry (Zac) Martinez, Kimberly (Travis) Bailey, Kendall (Emily) Presnell, Kelly (Stacie) Presnell. They have 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
David was preceded in death by his parents Willis Lorenzo Presnell, Julia Mabel Presnell, step mom Lola Maud Allen Presnell, brothers Gary Presnell and Grant Presnell. Surviving siblings are Lois Presnell and Daniel Presnell. He leaves behind a family who adored him and a legacy of laughter and love.
A service celebrating David's life will be held Saturday November 15th at 11:00 am at the Monte Vista Building 3845 South 2000 West Roy, UT. Friends may visit with family prior to the services from 10:00 -11:00 am.
