Maddy Taylor
After helping take care of Alan for about a year at the Veterans home, I took a position as a 911 dispatcher for the Highway Patrol. I remember being absolutely heartbroken to be leaving my residents (especially Alan). I told him when my last day was and he proceeded to tell me “Maddy, you are an amazing person who will help so many people and touch so many lives. You can do anything you put your mind to.” Alan was the reason I wasn’t nervous to start that job. I knew if he believed in me then I really could do it. Alan was such a special person in my life. We had a lot of fun times listening to ABBA and yelling “Holler!” When he needed me. His jokes and infectious smile is going to be deeply missed.
