Alfreda Marie Long's Obituary
Our loving friend, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and great- great grandmother, Alfreda Marie Long, passed away on Friday August 21, 2015. She was born on July 23rd 1937 in Sonora, California. She was a kind hearted woman who was loved by everyone she met. She loved going camping and cooking for her family.
Alfreda loved country music, classic rock and all the many animals that she took in and cared for. Her smile and presence would light up a room wherever she went. She worked hard to support her family and accepted all of life’s challenges with a smile and positive attitude. She was a “rock” for her great –grandchildren, Danny Galloway and Haylee Gibson who she raised to be thoughtful and caring young people. Alfreda always had an open door and helped so many friends and family members when they needed her the most. She always put her family and friends first, especially her cat and true best friend, Squeek. She was a hero to many and the most unselfish person anyone could meet.
“You were an angel without wings. We love you and appreciate everything you have done. You will be truly missed and in our hearts forever.”
Alfreda is survived by her children: Anna Dion, David Jackson, Linda Jackson (daughter-in-law) and Richard Turango; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Robert Dillonbeck, Carrie Galloway, Joseph Chavez, Danny Galloway and Aleia Cordova (Fiancé), Haylee Gibson and Laylie Kinikini.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, August 29th at 11:00am at the church located on 446 East Harvard Avenue, Salt Lake City, Utah. In lieu of flowers, Alfreda would like people to donate to their favorite charity.
