Allen Jay Dewey's Obituary
Allen Jay Dewey, 73, passed away on Tuesday April 4, 2023 in Ogden, UT. He was born September 8, 1949 in Pocatello, Idaho to Eldon K. Dewey and Lucille Bode Dewey.
Graduated from Ben Lomond High School Class of 1967. Graduated from Weber State University in 1974 with a B S in Business Administration/Finance. In 1998 he completed the Defense Acquisition University Government Logistics Management Course.
The majority of his career was spent in civil service working locally at Hill Air Force Base for a short time. He moved to the Washington DC area where he worked 18 years in different capacities managing a variety of government contracts. He returned to Ogden, Utah after retiring from civil service.
Allen enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, and hiking. He also became very skilled in martial arts, obtaining his black belt. He enjoyed music and was a devout fan of the Tabernacle Choir. Allen had a great sense of humor and he loved to laugh. His kind caring heart enabled him to provide countless hours of service and support for many of his closest friends and family members.
He married Susan Atkinson Jensen in Ogden, UT on October 7, 2017.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents; Eldon Keith Dewey and Lucille Bode Dewey. He is survived by his sister, Barbara Birch (Bob) Oceanside, CA and brother, Ron Dewey (Layna) Syracuse, UT and many nieces and nephews which he truly loved, and two Step Daughters Heidi Pobanz and Haylee Pobanz.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 18, 2023, at Premier Mortuary, 5335 S 1950 W ~ Roy, Utah. The viewing will take place at 10:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in the Ogden City Cemetery. Lunch will be served at the West Weber 1st Ward, 802 South 4100 West ~ West Weber for family and friends. Lunch provided by Ward members and Relief Society.
