Alvin Bruce Collins' Obituary
Alvin Bruce Collins passed away on March 24th at the age of 82 at the Timpanogas Hospital after suffering a stroke the week before. He was born Aug 9th 1940 in England to Dennis French Collins and Edit Thomas Collins. He was the oldest of seven children. After immigrating in 1948 the family settled in Orem Utah. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1958. He served a LDS mission in New Mexico. He served in the army for two years after that. He attended BYU and attained his Bachelor and Master degrees in Political Science. He went to work at the Alpine School District in 1972 and retried in 2012 after 40 years. He still would have worked if they would have allowed him to. He coached girls softball at Orem High which he loved dearly. He loved his friends and colleague at Orem High. Alvin loved all sports especially softball and baseball. He was a longtime Angels fan. Alvin loved classical music and was an accomplished pianist. Alvin is survived by his brothers Martin (Marisa) Jeff (Melanie) and his sister Susan and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Paul, Michael, and James. We wish to thank Alvins neighbors the Hinckley’s for helping him over the years and a special thanks to the staff at Timpanogas Hospital for their compassionate care. As per Alvins wishes he will be cremated and there will be no services. Rest in Peace Alvin and go Angels.
