I was a minister to Al for the last several years. It was always so much fun to talk to him and benefit from his wisdom. He shared with me his gospel commentaries and he told me that The Book of Mormon was his real strength. He said how much he enjoyed teaching Book of Mormon classes at BYU. He missed LaRue terribly and I learned to avoid talking about her. I felt a deep sadness when I learned Al had passed away and I'm going miss our conversations and picking him up for Church. Because we were unable to leave my mother-in-law alone, my wife and I watched the funeral service on ZOOM and were finally able to see the wonderful family members Al was so proud of.
