Amy Moore (Anjewierden)'s Obituary
Amy Moore (Anjewierden), Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and friend to many, peacefully passed through the veil and into the arms of our Heavenly Father on February 27, 2022. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, compassion for those in need, and especially for the love she had for her children and grandchildren.
Born in the town of Oenkerk in the province of Friesland, Netherlands, Amy migrated with her family to Utah in April of 1947. As a graduate of East High School, Amy sought to further her education and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. With a passion for serving others, she worked as a nurse for 35 years while raising 7 children whom she dearly loved.
As a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Amy had an indescribable fondness and love for her children and grandchildren and found peace in knowing that families are eternal. Her love of the Gospel and Jesus Christ was evidenced by the service she so freely gave throughout her life. Her willingness to follow the Savior, sacrificing all she had in the service of others, was a trademark of her personality and truly defined her character.
Though Amy was a friend to many, she will always be remembered first as a mother. Her children and grandchildren gave meaning and purpose to her life. The sparkle in her eyes and brilliance of her smile was always brightest when she was with her family. Family brought Amy pure joy. Until we meet again, we will all miss the pure joy she so willingly brought us.
Amy was preceded in death by her father Dirk, mother Jans, and siblings, Dirk, Doemie, Gimme, Eva, Ben, Franklin, and Henk.
Amy is survived by her husband, Michael Moore, who was undeniably the love of her life and her modern-day Prince Charming. She is also survived by her seven children, Tiffany Blair, Paul (Jennifer) Slagowski, Tammy (Brett) Nielson, Aaron (Becky) Slagowski, Mark Slagowski, Trisha (Bart) Vale, Josh (Noelle) Slagowski; siblings, John (Freda) Anjewierden, Lorna (Lee) Franke, David (Laura) Anjewierden, & Dwight (Leslie) Anjewierden, Penny Anjewierden (sister-in-law); as well as a host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who knew and loved her tremendously.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on March 7th, 2022 at the Autumn Ridge Stake Center at 4588 N. Eagle Mtn. Blvd., Eagle Mountain, UT 84005. Interment to follow at Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 South Redwood Road ~ Bluffdale, Utah.
Our family would like to thank all those who showed kindness and tender care.
