Amy Jean Talbot's Obituary
Amy Jean Talbot was 83 years old and passed away dreaming peacefully, on March 30th, 2014, just after graciously thanking her caretakers at Manor Care in Ogden, Utah. “Jean” was born on December 8th, 1930 to Amy Josephine and Orson Lee Beckstead and raised in Payson, Utah. She found true and everlasting love with a young man who refused to let her pass through the gate between their homes, until she gave him a “Yankee Nickel,” (and later found out he was asking for a kiss.) She would have it no other way, than to wait for that same young man to marry her on September 20th, 1950 at her mother’s home in Payson. When asked to tell their story, the two of them would giggle while eagerly finishing each other’s sentences, leaving her blushing and him gloating happily. She continued to cherish and share their story into the last of her days, even through bouts of Alzheimer’s disease, which she seemed to pull through in the months before her passing. She worked and retired from ZCMI as a professional seamstress. A lover of music, she played the piano and violin. She loved gardening, serving delicious homemade bread and scones with jam and enjoyed campfires in the great outdoors. More than anything, she loved her family. Though she will be dearly missed by those of us she leaves behind, she walks steadily and happily into the arms of those who have passed before her, reuniting with the love of her life, her daughter Sandra, her parents, siblings and many other loved ones. God speed, bless and protect our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother in her newfound knowledge of the divine, Universal love. May our love be with her, always, as she will always live on in our hearts. Please join us in honor and celebration of her life.Friday, April 4th711 S.
