Amy Jean Fitzgerald Watchorn's Obituary
Celebration of life
Amy Jean Fitzgerald Watchorn, age 49, passed away peacefully July 30, 2022, in the arms of her loving husband Donavon. Amy was born March 1, 1973, in Murray, Utah, to Jean Smith Fitzgerald and Warren Lee Fitzgerald. Amy is our beautiful, brown eyed, brown-haired caboose. Amy grew up in Lehi, Utah, surrounded by her loving family and many friends. She had an active imagination, she enjoyed playing in the fields surrounding the house, swinging on the rope swing over “Fords” creek and always enjoyed finding a little mischief; sneaking opportunities to play with friends, candy or seeing how quickly she could extinguish dry grass from burning before staring the field aflame.
Amy had the opportunity to move to Challis Idaho with her sweet little son Michael and her father, Warren. She loved this new adventure and having time to spend with her two favorite boys. In 1991 Amy met the love of her life Donavon Watchorn. Amy fell in love with Donavon immediately. They were married in January 1996 and expanded their family to include two beautiful girls, Makayla, and Lin. Amy adores her children, stating they are the “best kids ever.”
Amy enjoyed working in the service industry. She spoke fondly of her days at the United Cerebral Palsy center, where she cared for patients with specific needs. Her kindness and gentle spirit brought smiles and comfort to many.
Amy found contentment in being close to home and family. She had a gift for crocheting which was greatly admired and enjoyed by many recipients. She loved the feel and color of the yarn, especially purple. She could find a pattern, order the yarn, and have the project completed in record speed. Amy was rarely without a crocheting project even while sitting around the campfire. She loved spending time camping with her family. Yarn spinning was not only happening with Amy’s projects but with family stories as well. Amy also had a voracious love for books. She enjoyed many genres, some of her favorites being Little House on the Prairie, and the Outlander series.
Amy waged a battle with the “c” word for years, with grace, determination, and good old fashion stubbornness. Her sweet disposition, quick humor, laugh, and beautiful smile will be missed by the many people who love her.
Amy is survived by her loving husband Donavon and children Michael (Trisha), Lin and Makayla Watchorn, and her sweet grandson Kelso who adores his “Mammy.”
Siblings; Jill (PJ) Anderson, Hal (Judy) Fitzgerald, Jeff (Erica) Fitzgerald, Anne (John) Allan, Joan (Steven) Larsen, Beth (Lance) Weekley.
Amy is preceded in death by her sister, Joan Larsen; niece, Sara Fitzgerald; Grandparents, Eva and Lee Fitzgerald, Dell and Ruby Smith.
A private service will be held to celebrate Amy’s life.
