Ann Louise Cannaday Sanders' Obituary
Ann Louise Cannaday Sanders was born May 16, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan, to Richard Eugene Cannaday and Venice Coates Cannaday.
Ann spent part of her childhood in Peoria, Illinois, and later lived in Sanpete County, Utah, during her early teenage years. She eventually moved to the Avenues in Salt Lake City and graduated from East High School in 1965. Ann worked as a secretary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 30 years.
She married the love of her life, Jeff Blair Sanders, in the Salt Lake Temple on January 8, 2000. Ann was a devoted “doggy mom” to the many dogs she and Jeff cared for over the years. They first lived together in the Avenues, then moved to Sandy, Utah, and later to Murray, Utah.
Ann passed away at home on February 17, 2026, with her husband by her side, after living with Alzheimer’s and FTD.
She is survived by her husband, Jeff; her sister, Kimberly Gulbransen (Keith); her brother, Richard Cannaday (Pamela); and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Jeff’s children—Gayle Shepherd (Brian), Mitchell, Matthew (Kelly), and Derrick—along with 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard, and his wife, Sondra; her mother, Venice Coates Cannaday; one nephew; one granddaughter; and Jeff’s parents.
I wish to thank the Midvalley Stake Relief Society and the Revere Branch Relief Society for their kind and loving assistance over the past three years. Their support has been invaluable.
In lieu of a funeral, a viewing will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Premier Funeral Services, 67 East 8000 South, Sandy, Utah. A graveside service will follow at 12:00 noon on Friday, February 27, 2026, at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 “N” Street, Salt Lake City, Utah.
