I always felt loved by Grandma Anna. She was kind and thoughtful all the way to the end. I also loved her quiet spunk.
One of my favorite stories she told was about ketchup. Grandpa insisted that Heinz was the only acceptable ketchup—and honestly, I agree. But Grandma didn’t think it mattered quite as much. Wanting to save a few dollars, she bought a different brand and poured it into the Heinz bottle. Grandpa never noticed.
I love this story because it captures her perfectly—spunky, resourceful, and quietly clever in her own way.
