I met Annette in 7th grade and I still remember her curly hair, barrel bangs and glasses! She always had the happiest vibes and was so fun. She was kind, funny and witty. I was instantly drawn to her as a new friend! We also had a lot of fun at Copper Hills…when she decided to stay for class. Ha! We lost connection after she changed schools then reconnected long ago with birth of social media! What a great day to find a long lost friend! Annette was a fun and happy friend in my school years but she became so much more to me than that as we navigated adulthood, motherhood and hardships. She became a teacher, leader, inspiration, and confidant during some tough times. I remember having my first baby and being up in the night with the baby. I would get on to see if Annette was awake too with baby Ethan or at work. She gave me such good advice on newborns that I desperately needed. Connecting with her in the middle of the night was sometimes the only thing that saved me in those infant months. Annette had the best laugh and it’s one I will never forget. We laughed a lot together in person but mostly sending funny things to each other. She taught me by her example how to manage life and still find joy. When I had tough things, she’d always check in and let me know she was there. She often testified of Jesus Christ, especially during dark moments in the world or to encourage me through dark times in my own life. The way she lived and loved was beautiful and so pure. She often spoke about how fun it was to be a mom to her boys. She loved time on the ice, attending their performances and being together at home. She was a really good mom! She was really good at being authentic and unapologetically herself-it was so refreshing and inspiring. I’m very sad to lose this long time strength in my life but I’m grateful to have been given the gift to know and love such a beautiful angel in this life. Annette, I look forward to cracking a DP and dishing about all the things when I get there someday. 💜💜💜
