Ardella Sorensen's Obituary
Ardella Sorensen (83) died in Provo, UT on May 7, 2015 after a short illness. Ardella was born on May 20, 1931 in Fayette, Utah, the oldest daughter of Ernest and Rachel (Mellor) Sorensen. She enjoyed growing up surrounded by a loving family and many relatives.
She met the love of her life, Rey Sorensen of Manti, in 1949. They married in the Manti Temple on February 24, 1950.
Ardella and Rey were the proud parents of seven wonderful children, Connie (John) Sanchez, La Grande, OR; Wayne (RaeAnn) Sorensen, Mapleton; Sandra (David) Smith, American Fork; Clifford (Valerie) Sorensen, Syracuse; Jerry (Mickey) Sorensen, Taiwan, Ken (Valerie) Sorensen, Manti; Kathy (Jeff) DeLeeuw, Manti, and nearly 100 grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also leaves her sister LeeOra (Greg) Taylor and brother Don (Alice) Sorensen.
Ardella's hobbies were sewing, embroidering, reading, traveling and all the little things of life. She had a talent for seeing the beauty and good in everyday things and expressed those feeling in her poems and stories. She was an example of strength and patience as she faced her challenges throughout her life.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, brother LeRoy Sorensen, sister Helen Taylor and three grandchildren.
Funeral services 12:00 Noon, Monday, May 11, 2015 at the Manti LDS Stake Center, 555 East Union, Manti, Utah. A viewing will be held at the church from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Sunday, May 10, 2015 and Monday prior to services from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. Interment at the Manti City Cemetery, next to her three grandchildren who preceeded her in death. Her grave was dedicated by her son, Ken Sorensen.
