Arleen Ferguson Stigers' Obituary
Arleen Ferguson Stigers, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, at the age of 88. She was born on March 11, 1938, in Provo, Utah, to Ray Bowden Ferguson and Lois A. Monsen
Arleen was one of 10 children. She was preceded in death by six of her siblings: Raymond, Wayne, Janet, Dennis, and JoAnn, as well as her beloved husband, James William Stigers, who passed away on October 13, 2025. She is survived by her siblings Melvin Ferguson (Wife Pat), Elaine Muller, and Marylin Harris.
In her early twenties, Arleen married Dean Anderson, and together they had three children: Kari Barker (Russell Barker), Guy Anderson (Cathy Anderson), and Jennifer Anderson Simmons. Arleen was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren: Justin Barker( married to Nicole Barker)Ian Barker ( Married to Lyndsey Barker) Mikelle Belliston (Trent Belliston), Whitney Allen (Camron Allen), Brooke Ashcroft (Eric Ashcroft), Hayden Anderson, Morgan Spencer (Nate Spencer), Sydnee Wilson (Patrick Wilson), and Kira A. Anderson. She was also blessed with 22 great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.
Arleen later married the love of her life, James William Stigers, with whom she shared many happy years until his passing.
She will be remembered for her warm and loving nature, her kindness, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome. Wherever she went, Arleen brought a smile to those around her and lifted the spirits of all who knew her. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and considered the members of her ward to be part of her extended family.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 12:00 noon at the Green Leaf Ward LDS Church, 2160 W. Gordon Avenue, Layton, Utah.
Arleen’s legacy of love, compassion, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
