Barbara McNearney's Obituary
Barbara McNearney, 58, of West Valley City, Utah, passed away on December 22, 2025.
Barbara was an inspirational example of honesty, integrity, and rock-solid family support. Though she is deeply missed, she will never be forgotten. She was a strong role model—someone most anyone could grow from—who truly understood the power of saying what you believe and believing what you say. Barbara will forever be remembered by her loved ones for her no-nonsense, direct approach to life.
Without hesitation or request, Barbara protected and stood firmly beside the people she loved. She was truly a selfless soul, always preferring to give rather than receive. Barbara enjoyed fishing and remote adventures with her immediate family, seldom complained, and found joy in even the simplest and most insignificant moments of life.
She is survived by her husband, Joel; her children, Cody Draper and Jasper Armstrong; her adopted granddaughter, Paislee McNearney; her stepfather, Eldon Sanders; her grandchildren, Nathias, Joziah, Malakai, Leah, Alexis, and Braylinn; her sister, Theresa Hall; her brother, Fred (Kim); and her beloved pet, Ego.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marilyn Sanders and Jack Newell, and her beloved daughter, Brittney Draper.
In accordance with Barbara’s wishes, no services will take place. She expressed the hope that those who knew and loved her would take time to reflect on and remember the joyful moments of her life.
