Barbara Ann Taylor's Obituary
September 8, 1951 – October 7, 2025
Barbara Ann Taylor passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, after a long battle with health issues, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on September 8, 1951, in upstate New York, Barbara was the daughter of Richard Taylor Sr. and Rose Marie Antinore. She was raised in a close-knit family and carried those values of love and connection throughout her life. After the passing of her parents in the late 1980s, Barbara moved to California, where she met Glenda Johnson and her son Adam. Soon after, she was adopted (unofficially) into their family and became a beloved part of their lives. Seven years ago, Barbara and Glenda moved to Utah to be closer to Adam, Sara, and their children.
Barbara’s lifelong calling was to care for and uplift others. She began her career as a nurse’s aide at age 17, later earning her bachelor’s degree in Social Work. She worked as a social worker in both New York and California and served as an ombudsman in Idaho. In every role, Barbara advocated for those who could not advocate for themselves, leaving a legacy of compassion, service, and integrity.
Those who knew Barbara will remember her for her deep empathy, warm friendship, infectious laughter, and generous spirit—often expressed through the meals she lovingly prepared. Barbara's mother taught her the art of cooking and passed down many Italian and English dish recipes that Barbara found great joy in sharing with others.
Barbara was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having joined after moving to California. She served faithfully in many callings, but her favorite was teaching the Sunbeam class in Primary
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Taylor Sr. and Rose Marie Antinore, and her brother, Ricky Taylor. She is survived by Glenda Johnson, Adam and Sara Johnson and their children, Noah, Grace, Spencer, and Reed, and many other cherished friends and loved ones who will miss her dearly.
A memorial service celebrating Barbara’s life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. MDT at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1020 E. 1900 N., Lehi, Utah.
Barbara’s kindness, courage, and love will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
